I’m a reporter looking to bring my investigative, data and visual reporting skills together to impact the communities I serve.
As a graduate student at Arizona State University’s Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications, building on those skills has been my primary focus. My reporting classes have taken me to Lima, Peru and the U.S.-Mexico border as part of a borderlands reporting initiative, and around Arizona as part of multiple assignments. As a research assistant, I have contributed to work involving the journalism industry and communication platforms. I’m set to graduate in December 2019.
My journalism experience began at The Vermilion, my undergraduate institute’s student paper, where I spent four years as a reporter, page designer, copy editor, web editor and managing editor. Outside of the student newsroom, I worked as a digital intern for The Advocate, Louisiana’s largest news organization, as well as a freelancer for its Acadiana bureau. My work in photography, news writing, feature writing and website layout has been recognized by outlets such as the Society of Professional Journalists and the Southeast Journalism Conference.
